Possible way to reverse to an old version of entry

Dear expert,
Is there anyway to reverse a version of HEPData entry to an old version? I met a case that the uploader ask me to create a new version 4 to upload some updates but the paper has been not sublit to the journal so we need to reverse to version 3. I have no idea about how to do it.

Thanks ahead,
Hanfei

No, unfortunately, we don’t have a procedure to reverse the effects of the “Finalise” button. Clicking this button triggers a number of steps that make changes to the database and search index, as well as minting DOIs via the DataCite service, and it is difficult to reverse all these steps. If the version 4 does not contain obvious mistakes, I suggest you leave it for now, then upload a new version 5 if changes are necessary following journal peer review.

But if you really don’t want version 4 to be public at this stage, I can delete version 4 leaving versions 1, 2 and 3. This can only be done by an Admin user (not a Coordinator) after a record has been finalised. You would need to again click “Revise Submission” to create a new version 4, then upload and finalise when you are ready. The DOIs for version 4 will be broken until you do this. I assume the affected record is https://www.hepdata.net/record/ins1995886.

Hi Graeme,

Thanks for your explaination. It would be helpful if you could help me to delete version 4, leaving version 1, 2 and 3. The record is this one: https://www.hepdata.net/record/105864

Thanks again,
Hanfei

OK, I’ve deleted version 4 of the record.
